Poland and University of Stockholm. Emigrated from Sweden to Canada in 1971. Her tapestries have been exhibited widely, including Paris, London, Brussels, Rome, Bonn and Warsaw. Represented Canada abroad in a traveling exhibition organized by the Cultural Division of the Department of External Affairs in Ottawa. Specializing in large tapestry murals. she executed several commissions for public buildings including a 140 square foot tapestry "Indian Summer" for Canada Trust in Bentall Center in Vancouver, now in permanent collection of Maltwood Art Museum and Gallery. Collections include the British Columbia Provincial Collection, B.C. Telephone Company, I.B.M. Canada, Federal Govemment Permanent Collection of External Affairs. in Ottawa, Surrey art Gallery as well as many private homes and offices. Served among others on the Board of Directors of the Crafts Association of British Columbia., Canadian Association of Asian Arts, and the Business and the Arts Advisory Committee at the Vancouver Board of Trade Has also taught weaving and design courses at the Career/Vocational Division of Capilano College. Collaborates periodically with other artists to translate their work into tapestry. Work of her husband's design was exhibited at the Carimor Gallery. New York and Winchester Gallery. Victoria. Tapestry "Bear Mother" design by Haida artist Bill Reid was shown at the Equinox Gallery Vancouver., the Museum of Man, Paris, France, and is part of the collection of Bill Reid Foundation. Her one of a kind jewellery. was included in numerous fashion shows and in layouts for Kay Alsop's fashion column in Woman to Woman Magazine. Her other venture is photography and graphic design. Among others she contributed to design and layout of the book "Kupczynski" published in USA by Flower Valley Press, and her photos and the cover design are part of the book "Art warrior" published in Canada by Granville Island Publishing. Until recently she also worked for 12 years as a columnist for published in Toronto polish newspaper "Gazeta" "Eva Kupczynski is a highly skilled and accomplished weaver.
